Like another reviewer it must be forty years since I was last here. It is now really a restaurant rather than a pub with food.We were warmly welcomed and quickly shown to our seats. Menus and drinks also appeared quickly. Food was good. Be warned that the main course portion size is large bordering on humungous. Needless to say we didn't sample the sweets.We won't leave it so long before we come back.
Went to The Blair on New Year's day. The food was fantastic,great menu,so much to choose from. Went with the whole family,staff were brilliant with the kids. Kids menu was excellent too.
Came here yesterday for lunch. The starter was absolutely beautiful. Full of flavour and taste, and very refreshing to have. The cheese was melted and soft, and the salad was fresh. The steak was a bit underwhelming. Especially for a 30. However, it had a beautiful taste and the mash was extremely creamy. Didn't like the onion rings, and felt they were not up to a good standard for me. I chanced having a dessert and I wished I could have more of it. The Apple crumble was melt in the mouth, with a smooth custard and a scoop of ice cream. I felt if I didn't have a starter I would have ate it all I enjoyed it so much.
Been here numerous times over the years and have an annual family Xmas outing as well. 5 stars every time. Food is amazing.
I hadn't been at The Blair Tavern for 40 years. It was first class. Good service and good food. Lovely decor as well. They just need a better Flat White Coffee.
